Goodnight

Dark, flesh
rotting, scream...
A gentle trickle
into the sea
A stain so dark,
so pure so unblemished

Black soul,
no more charred
Vestal virgin
torn apart
of happy times
Disturbed dreams forever are...

Today

“Hey!”
“Oh! Hi!” Giggles          Laughs

Music

A memory killed
An innocence lost
Into sweet chains now
My wisdom binds
The past buried
The future unsure
A hazy present
Of you reminds

The innocent laughter
Heartfelt smile
In my soul
I still survive
Words bring back
The stab of pain
Music binds
As rhymes liberate...

Humans

Boiled flavorful rice left on the porch
For the uglies to carry to the revered ancestors
To free their soul
Satiate their hunger
Free their shackles from Lucifer's abode
A death of joy
Imparting peace for the happy after-life...

Millions on earth as they die
Little fists outstretched for a grain
To stand up strong
On their twig like limbs
A tiny stomach bulging, air and dust swirling inside
A life of pain
Relief, as death unburdens the heavy earth...

Such is the mind
Such is the heart
And so are humans bound
Scorn for the alive
Tears for the dead
Life as it lies uncared for
Ashes saved in an ornate urn...

Daughter

The burden cried a soft, feeble cry
Her brother fed, giggled happily
The ragged doll lay dirty, torn
A shiny cricket bat as it glittered under the sun
The innocent tears fell in thick heaps
He was cuddled, held to a mother's bosom
The leering father, adventurous uncle
His pocket bulged with crisp new greens
Books dusty, utensils gleaming clean
The swings in the garden creaked happily
Shrouded in shawls, ashamed of femininity
He in a semi-clad body lolled around
The wedding reds, a bankrupt sigh of relief
A hope relieve as his new wife
Again filled the coffers to the brim...

Purity

Walking the path of darkness
Where even my shadow prefers
To follow me not
The blighted skin of the moon
straining against the clouds to give
A single silver among the black
Shrouded in my body cold
lies a feeling, so strong, so unknown
Fear forgotten, horror hidden
A love so strong holds me true
Compassion for the white
Tainted so quick, the pure so corrupted
A passion for the pure black
The fallen, the void, untouched
As it encompasses all
Even the tainted light now pure...

Chubby Cheeks

Chubby cheeks, dimpled chin;
Rosy lips, teeth within;
Curly tail, pink and pale
Eyes are brown, prettiest in town;
Supper fest, welcome the Chief Guest;
Tables groaned under his weight,
As he lay there, a pig impaled...

The Untitled Pome...

The sullen night called
Dark, shrouded they walked
Spreading chill all around
Finally, homeward bound
Fear not these worldly wise
Beware, death walks before your eyes...

The Stepping Stone

Running ahead, eyes shut tight
A boulder I stumbled and fell against,
I cried and swore and eyes wide open
Walked slowly, hoping to reach my goal...

The stranger heaved and huffed and puffed
And carried the rocks to his store,
Chiseled and smoothed he carved out steps
And the boulder became my stepping stone...

Vanilla Moonlight

A shoulder to lean on,
Is sometimes all we need
Holding hands,
Walking on the beach
Candle-light dinners,
Gazing at the stars
Coz you complete me
And I love you just as you are...

The Dream

I have a dream and
I dream of it with open eyes
I have a dream and
I dream of being smart and wise
Of aiding the helpless, easing their pain
Of aiding little school girls, fearful of weight-gain
Of helping battered wives and mothers soon to be
Of holding a fragile hand and making everyone mentally free...

I have a dream and
I dream of it with all my heart
I have a dream and
I dream of dancing on hay-brimmed carts
Of tapping my feet to the merry songs
Of moving gaily without thought of right or wrong
Of shaking and hopping and singing along
Of dancing to every tune, every song...

I have a dream and
I dream of it, wishing it comes true
I have a dream and
I dream of being the next Nancy Drew
Of running round and round the world
Of deciphering clues with a mind whirled
Of punishing bad guys and earning fame
Of spying and hiding, yet earning a name...

I have a dream and
I dream of it every night
I have a dream and
I dream of writing tales of fun and fright
Of weaving a secret through pretty words
Of sailors and soldiers battling swords
Of gossip and love and castles of sand
Of creating a magical, alien land...

I have a dream and
I dream of it, night and day
I have a dream and
I dream of hiding my musings away
But then sleep vanishes and I face the light
Staring at a future, so dark yet so bright
I pinch my arm and on my feet try to stand
Sighing, frowning, get back to the task at hand...
