Poetic Evenings

Days pass on and months fly by
Years left behind, time the quicksand
Fleeting smiles met, burdens and pains endured
Moments of real happiness lived
Timelessness in frowns captured
Past translated into fond memories
The future a confusion of joys and pain
You continue to be, you continue to live
Daily hunting, trying to find a new you...

Riding the Wave

How does it feel to be a wave
To reach the shore and give it all up again
How does it feel to be so strong
And yet so helpless when crashing against the rocks?
How does it feel to roll over and over again
Knowing you'll never get what you love most
Do you only feel despair with each new journey?
Or are you so hopeful to keep praying through?
Wishing you can be one with that fickle sand
That between the finger spaces passes right through...

The Broken Man

A smile that never reached his eyes
A heart that always beat too fast
A hope that still refused to die
A fight lost, feeble his battle cry
He stood on the precipice lost and alone
Staring into a forever that would never be his
Living that curse, the destiny his hand held
Wanting to run, bound by life
He looked and stared, wished to jump
His treacherous feet though held fast
Weary and broken he smiled once more
And trudged home once bright eyes downcast...

Moments of Peace

Yes, the beach is littered
And yet footprints in the sand give a unique thrill...
Yes, the foul odor signals rotting fish
And yet there's a pleasant fragrance of the damp sea air...
Yes, the water is black, nothing blue reflecting
And yet it crashes against the rocks creating a white froth...
Yes, there's obscene music blaring nearby
And yet the sound of waves creates a soothing symphony...
Yes, the tall bridge mars the pristine beauty
And yet, the fading horizon brings heart closer to nature...
Yes, in the distance the sun quietly sets
And yet there's a light shining bright from the happy eyes around...
Yes, there is a crowd all around
And yet standing on the rocky precipice, there's a quiet within me...

Have You Met Love?

Have you ever been held so close
Held so close like there's no tomorrow
Held so close that your hearts beat as one
Held so close that breaths mingle in mists
Held so close that two souls feel united

Have you ever been kissed so deep
Kissed as deep as the fathomless ocean
Kissed as deep as the black of the night
Kissed as deep as the fire in the farthest star
Kissed as deep as the drug to numb your mind

Have you ever been held so close
Have you ever been kissed so deep
Have you ever been tickled so light
Have you ever been touched so slow
Have you ever been loved so true

For such true passion when you discover
Hold it close, don't ever let it go...
For such rare someone when you discover
Kiss that someone true, hold him forever...

Being Happy

Wanting to be free
She gazed at the blue, blue sky
Bruised knees bandaged
She happily sat on the rusted swing
Ink-stained fingers washed
She grabbed her lunch-box and rushed
Hand quietly outstretched
She promised the teacher better grades next
Stomach loudly rumbling
She lived for the moments in a blissful canteen spent

So bored of being a child
So bored of hearing other's tales
She dreamed of growing big and tall
She dreamed of flying high in the sky...

Tired of unending calls
She muttered a groan, a grumble, a moan
Hands on steering wheel
She was trapped in million dollar luxury
Eyes red and puffed
She continued staring at the brightly lit screen
Brain dead and numb
She struggled with ideas to impress who she hated
Smile pasted on
She cursed the world with a vengeance unmatched

So tired of being the adult
So tired of being always responsible
She dreamed of being tiny and happy
She dreamed of running naked feet on the grass....
